Former Vice President and former President of Noakhali Municipal BNP under Noakhali District, Md. Jamal Uddin, was seriously injured in a tragic road accident at Bagmara in Cumilla while traveling to attend the reception program of Mr. Tarique Rahman at Dhaka’s 300 Feet Road on 25 December 2025. He was admitted to Bangladesh Medical University. Today, Friday, 02 January 2026, at 11:30 AM, he passed away while undergoing treatment. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep sorrow and grief at his passing. In a condolence message issued today, the BNP Secretary General said: “Late Md. Jamal Uddin was a firm believer in the principles and ideals of former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttom, and in the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism. Under the leadership of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia, he was actively involved in democratic movements and struggles. I am deeply saddened and grief-stricken by his death. I pray to Almighty Allah to grant Jannatul Ferdous to the departed soul of Md. Jamal Uddin and to bestow patience and strength upon the bereaved family.” In the condolence message, the BNP Secretary General prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members, relatives, admirers, and well-wishers.
