Condolence Message from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir
Shahana Khanam Chowdhury, mother of ATM Kamal—a Liberation War organizer, former Vice President of Narayanganj District Women’s Wing, and former General Secretary of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP—passed away yesterday at her residence. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep sorrow and grief at her passing.
In a condolence message issued today, the BNP Secretary General said:
“Late Shahana Khanam Chowdhury was a firm believer in the principles and ideals of former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttom, and in the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism. Under the leadership of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia, she was actively involved in democratic movements and struggles. As an organizer of the Liberation War, her contributions were unforgettable. In addition to her involvement with the party and various social and cultural organizations, she was also well regarded as a school teacher. I am deeply saddened and grief-stricken by her death. I pray to Almighty Allah to grant Jannatul Ferdous to Shahana Khanam Chowdhury and to bestow patience and strength upon the bereaved family.”

In the condolence message, the BNP Secretary General prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members, relatives, admirers, and well-wishers.
